The last 6 years have been an incredible ride. A lot of you pretty much know this story. On this date 6 years ago, my wife took me to the ER because I could not swallow, even my spit or water. It was more than a bit distressing, but I thought it was just a sore throat that would pass. To this day, Im THANKFUL that there was a Resident Dr, that was suspicious of something more than a sore throat because he could not see anything wrong with a scope. He asked if he could do a CAT scan so of course whatever would assist in this mess would be fine. I was getting a bit worried, but not terribly so.
Soon the results were back, along with a question from the Resident Dr. "How long have you been a smoker?" NEVER was my reply, HIS reply, "are you sure?" LOL NOW, keep in mind, I have NEVER smoked in my life. Tried once, YUCK, not for me. Apparently they saw a "spot" on my larynx that more often than not is cancer. Because I could not swallow, they put me in the hospital for the night to keep an eye on me, in the HEART hospital no less. The HILTON of hospital rooms, very nice. A few days later this diagnosis was confirmed, and though I put on the tough face, on the inside I was freaking out. That lasted only a short time, and I realized I had an ace up my sleeve. That ace is called GOD.
Somehow, I found the faith to believe that no matter what came my way, I was confident that God was going to heal me. I had my Pastor pray for me and people from literally around the world were praying for me. People I know, some that I did not know, but there is power in prayer. Im here to tell you GOD does heal. The diagnosis was STAGE IV on my larynx. Today, Im cancer free, Im totally healthy and I give God all the PRAISE for HIS Healing, Grace, and Mercy.
